Have you a manuscript synonymous with good? Okay.
At the moment, we’re only accepting Canadian-authored collections, but that’s only because we’re Canadian. We prefer that you submit your manuscripts electronically, complete in an attached word document with the same title as your piece. Introduce yourself to us in the body of the email. Tell us what kind of books you like. Feel free to include a list of previous publications, if any. We’ll accept simultaneous submissions; just let us know if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere in the interim. We respond to all submissions; however, sometimes it takes us a little while to reply, so please wait for us to contact you.
PistolPress does not publish: self-help books, nonfiction, children’s literature, fictionalized accounts of retail addiction, vampire-based narratives, or genre fiction.
Also, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PUT DOUBLE SPACES AFTER TERMINAL PERIODS, please. Nobody does this anymore except maybe the queen, and she still uses opera spectacles at Olympic events. This double-spacing thing makes formatting and editing very difficult, so any submission sent with double spaces will be sent back to the writer and will not be read until the spaces are removed.

We are currently seeking submissions for The Kitchen Reading Series, an online video-based alternative to live literary readings. Please submit a video of you reading your own work in a kitchen-like setting for 3-5 minutes. Accepted videos will be posted on our sister website and promoted on both, with wine and vigor.
