PistolPress has received generous support from Concordia University’s One Percent Sustainability Action Fund. We are proud to announce that our first book is printed on 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Paper (cover stock included), and uses vegetable based inks.

Adopted through the 1% Campaign in March 2007, the Sustainability Action Fund seeks to inspire necessary positive changes by funding sustainable initiatives on campus. We seek to better ecological and social systems by allocating resources to sustainable development at Concordia, with the recognition that our actions in Montréal resound globally.
The Sustainability Action Fund is proud to be sponsor of the PistolPress. Initiatives like PistolPress illustrate the need to examine our current habits, and where it is possible to change. PistolPress is leading the way by demonstrating publishing does not have to be unsustainable and that it is possible to have a publication that has a very limited impact on our environment.
Other Initiatives and Projects Supported by the Fund:
- A 100 ton organic waste compost facility to be built at Loyola.
- Duplex Printer at the Concordia Student Union Office for student use.
- Funding to hire Greenhouse Coordinator, allowing greater access to the Concordia Greenhouse.
- Re-launch of Lug-A-Mug Campaign, educating students on the importance of bringing their reusable mug.
- The printing of Art Matters Festival Program Guide on a 100% post-consumer paper.
- Elimination of Plastic cups from Reggie’s, the campus student bar, saving over 100,000 plastic cups from the landfill
